The evolutionary transformation of a place with a distinctive character, a small house in a garden on the edge - a joyful task. At the same time, the increasingly frequent topic of adapting recreational space to permanent housing. The builders did not have a more intimate connection to the original cottage, with its details and layers. The stories that took place here have been forgotten. Therefore, we tried (we liked the cottage) for a kind of subsurface continuity. The floor plan of the original building is the beginning and the proportions of the floor plan of the new house. We also reinterpret some of the original details and construction principles. Gradual building has borne fruit in the distinction – the essential is done and the unfinished is unimportant. Stylistic unity and formal perfection do not carry the quality of life. God is elsewhere than in the detail. The wealth flowing from little, the simplicity of life and the energy of the builders is encouraging and inspiring.
